I have a $100 REI Gift Card. Should I get Darn Tough socks or Maui Jim sunglasses?
You can get good optics from zenni without paying for brand name frames. The you have good optics that you don't have to cry when you lose them.

Anyone Found a Good Way to Relieve Eye Strain?
I have a pair of yellow blue-blocking prescription glasses I use for work. I don’t really think of glasses as BIFL items (since styles and prescriptions change overtime) unless you’re really hard on your glasses. I got mine from Zenni. They’ve made a big difference for my eye strain. I also use Refresh eyedrops whenever I experience discomfort. Again, eyedrops aren’t BIFL, but that’s a brand commonly recommended by eye doctors. I like that they’re single use, so I’m not worrying about when I opened the container. Best advice though for eye strain is to take frequent breaks (getting outside helps). I’ll set timers to make sure I’m not staring at screens too much.

What’s one item you bought that way outperformed its price?
a pair of plastic aviator eyeglasses from zenni. i wear them everyday and am horrible to my glasses (i sit on them, drop them, scrape them against rocks, etc) and some of my metal pairs haven't lasted this well. but somehow this little $6.95 pair has lasted me 3-4 years. i ordered myself a second pair over a year ago, fearing i was about to break these but i haven't even opened the plastic bag. (these are style #232915 in case anybody was curious)

Any suggestions for high-quality polarized sunglasses that don’t have a huge markup just because of the brand?
I love Zenni

BIFLers, what things do you not understand why people spend their money on?
Plus, Zenni isn’t owned by Luxottica, I’m pretty sure. Which is a big win!
