The Technivorm Moccamaster is constructed using the highest quality interior parts like a coiled copper heating element not the flat, aluminum element found in most electric coffee makers. Copper heats very quickly so the water heats quickly. The Technivorm brews a full pot of coffee in about 6 minutes. If a coffee maker takes too long to brew, the coffee can taste bitter and unpleasant. And the Technivorm brews coffee within the ideal temperature range of 195 – 205 degrees (as measured in the filter basket). It is remarkably consistent about staying within that golden temperature zone. The filter basket is large enough to accommodate the correct amount of coffee grounds (about 2 level tablespoons for every six ounces of water). You won’t be forced into brewing weak coffee because of a filter basket that is too small. This model automatically pre infuses the coffee grounds for better saturation. It also has an auto stop filter basket, which allows you to pull the carafe out and pour a cup of coffee before the brewing cycle is complete.
