Initially debuting in 2008, the ASICS Gel-1130 Black Pure Silver sneakers draw inspiration from the design elements of the GEL-KAYANO 14. This lifestyle running sneaker incorporates a variety of advanced materials to achieve a contemporary look and feel, including technology like GEL cushioning and TRUSSTIC support. The Black Pure Silver ASICS Gel-1130 features black and pure silver mesh panels, with a logo patch located on the side. It has a rounded toe and employs a front lace-up fastening for secure closure. It also features polished side stripes and a mesh upper. The design is completed with a chunky rubber sole that offers durability and style. What our experts love about the ASICS Gel-1130 Black Pure Silver is its distinctive retro aesthetics. This sneaker is characterized by its chunky silhouette and the fusion of modern design elements with nostalgic, vintage-inspired style. The sneaker released on 31st May 2023 for $95.

What Are the Best Travel Shoes That Are Actually Worth It?
No sneaker is BIFL, but I really like my Asics Gel 1130's. I have wider than normal feet and live in SEA and for stomping around somewhere like Bangkok they are literally perfect for me. Lightweight, very breathable, wide and comfy, and stylish enough if you like the retro 2000's runner thing.

What Are the Best Travel Shoes That Are Actually Worth It?
If you’re looking at what’s actually performing well *and* trending in 2025, these five are hard to beat: Adidas OZWEEGO, Adidas Samba, New Balance 9060, Nike Zoom Vomero 5, and ASICS GEL-1130. They’re popular for a reason. All are comfortable for long walking days, handle mixed city terrain well, and still work with casual travel outfits instead of looking like pure running shoes. I’ve found this category of “lifestyle-runner hybrids” to be way more travel-friendly than over-hyped fashion sneakers.

Looking for the most durable and fashionable men’s sneakers
You’re not doing anything wrong wearing one pair almost every day will kill pretty much any sneaker, especially flat ones like Chucks, Vans, or Sambas. They look great but they’re not built to be daily beaters. If you want stuff that actually holds up *and* still looks good, these are easily the top picks in 2025: **Adidas Samba (in rotation, not daily), Adidas Ozeweego, New Balance 9060, Nike Zoom Vomero 5, and ASICS Gel-1130**. All of those have way better cushioning, heel structure, and outsole durability than vulcanized shoes. Biggest upgrade though? Rotate 2–3 pairs. One flat classic, one cushioned runner-style shoe, one casual beater. Even “durable” sneakers fall apart fast if they’re worn every day.

Where Does "Buy It for Life" Not Make Sense?
I buy last seasons asics gels for $40-60 and when I had my more active job they would last me about 6 months tops. Now I sit behind a desk and just take daily dog walks 2-3 times a day so curious how long they last now. This is my transition into old man thinking. My gfs grandparents switch up which couch cushion they sit on every day so there is even wear 🤣

Going to Europe, suggestions for comfortable, not-ugly walking shoes that will last?
Yeah I'm from Europe and you can absolutely walk around in sneakers, everyone does. You will be totally fine with a pair of asics gel or new balance or so. I think bags and hats and clothes with colourful pattern will more likely reveal that you are a tourist. I honestly can't say what it is but you just know who is a tourist and who isn't. Might as well embrace it!
