What's the best air purifier for allergies (specifically dust mites in an old house)?
so for context, i have rosacea and asthma, both triggered by dust, and live in a hot area that stays dusty pretty much year-round. a lot of purifiers feel like overpriced fans with filters that don't do much. You need a certified HEPA filter no matter what, please look into this cos a lot of brands skirt around it and write ""HEPA adjacent"" or something. Gonna put [the blueair 211+](https://grassrouteguide.com/dp-B073WJL99W0) here, cuz it does what it says with fine particles like dust mites and pet dander (i take in a lot of strays). it’s quiet enough for a bedroom, doesn’t look clunky, and the airflow feels noticeably better even on low. the build doesn’t feel cheap either, which matters when you’re running it constantly. seen it mentioned a few times in allergy threads, seconding it fully.

The REAL best air purifier - I HATE DUST!
You’ll typically see the same top-rated models across Wirecutter, Consumer Reports, and Tech Gear Lab: the BlueAir Blue Pure 311i+ Max, Coway Airmega 1512HH, and Winix 5500. The best choice probably depends on the size of the space you’re trying to cover. For my downstairs rooms, I went with two BlueAir units (the 311 and 211 models). BlueAir offers a 25% discount for teachers, military, police, and possibly firefighters (can’t recall for sure), available in both the U.S. and Canada. They also offer a 15% discount on filter replacements if you sign up for a 6-, 9-, or 12-month subscription. For my upstairs office/bedroom—since it’s a smaller space—I went with the Coway Airmega 1512HH and have been happy with it.

Best air purifier/filter?
I put a Blueair Blue Pure 211+ in my living room to tackle dust around my collectibles, and I've seen a noticeable drop in the amount of dust settling on my shelves. I set it up in a space where I spend most of my time, and it runs quietly enough that I hardly notice it while it's working. In just a couple of weeks, cleaning became easier and my items stayed a lot cleaner. It’s been a solid, dependable solution for me, so if you’re dealing with similar issues, this model might be worth considering.
