John Boos Chop-N-Slice Cutting Board
A solid maple cutting board like this quickly becomes the reliable workhorse of a busy kitchen, making everything from weeknight chopping to weekend entertaining feel easier and more enjoyable. Crafted from beautiful edge-grain maple and measuring 16" x 10", it offers a generous surface for everyday tasks—think slicing vegetables for salads, carving roasted meats, prepping herbs for sauces or arranging a casual cheese and charcuterie board to share with friends. At 1.25" thick, this wooden chopping block feels sturdy and substantial under your knife, helping you cut with confidence whether you’re dicing quickly for soup or taking your time on precise slices for a special dinner. Made by John Boos Co., a trusted name in butcher blocks and cutting boards since 1887, this maple board brings professional-quality performance to the home kitchen while staying approachable and easy to use. The reversible design lets you use both sides, so you can designate one for proteins and the other for fruits and vegetables or keep one side ready for serving and presentation. Eased corners give it a refined, finished look while making the board more comfortable to lift, turn and carry from counter to table. In classic natural maple with a clean, solid pattern, this board fits seamlessly into any kitchen style and adds warm, natural character to your countertop. Durable enough for daily prep yet handsome enough to leave out on display, it’s the kind of dependable, good-looking cutting board that invites you to cook more often, welcome people in and savor the everyday joy of making good food together.

Best Cutting Board Material?
Yes sir, here to support the John Boos agenda. [Their maple one](https://ra-sl.com/dp-B07FGL9ZFYIO) especially, love the wood on that. Self healing-check Easy to clean- check A little groove to collect juice so it doesn’t mess up your counter- check Minimal contamination cos the particles don’t really penetrate the wood cos its surface is thick-CHECK Also, if you wanna go the extra mile you could use the Boos oil (they literally call it mystery oil lol) to keep it in good condition or just handwash it regularly and you’ll be fine. Its a thicc boy though, so a little heavy.

Your Top 3 BIFL Items
Staub 5qt cocotte Rosle stainless steel utensils (made in Germany is best) I can’t pick a number 3… This year I bought Blundstone lug boots in black leather. I love them… And 2 pairs of darn tough socks. BEFORE I found this sub. Lol and I’m British! I’m so glad I found them. Another good pair is “SmartWool” Merino wool socks are very worth it. Same for Mattress topper… I invested in a WoolRoom topper. It’s amazing. Keeping me cool this summer and so comfortable. Maybe Boos maple chopping board and Wusthof classic 8” chef knife! I don’t often splurge but when I do I try my best to make it a buy it for a long time investment
