Daybed with Trundle Pop-Up
Not bifl but ikea hemnes daybed fits the bill. I got mine used off facebook and it’s several years old and works great. Also pretty easy instructions if you need to take it apart to move

What’s one item you bought that way outperformed its price?
My Ikea furniture is approaching 15 years old. Specifically Malm and Hemnes family of stuff.

Daybed/guest bed recommendations for smaller space?

Daybed with trundle, preferably wood.
For what it’s worth, I have the IKEA hemnes day bed and it feels very sturdy. Unless the people planning to sleep on it weigh more than (let’s say) 200 lbs, then I feel like it will last for a long time. I’m sure it’s rated for more weight, but it might not last as long if someone built like a linebacker is sleeping on it every night. I hope that makes sense.

The difference between generations…
I have two Hemnes bookshelves. One is filled up with books and the other is filled with older edition books that I've collected from thrifting and my ~450 piece CD collection. There's a lot of weight on them and they're still holding up.

The Hemnes bookcases are solid wood and about $250.

The difference between generations…
I’d highly recommend their Hemnes line. We have three of them all full of books and they’ve held up great. They’re solid wood unlike the fiber board of the Billy.

> It’s well worth it to buy high quality items (like a bookshelf) for $250+ Are we talking about a bookshelf like Billy in Ikea? Good luck finding a solid wood one for $250 but then our Ikea shelves are doing just fine after 10 years. No bowing or swaying and a tall bookshelf shouldn't sway as it needs to be attached to the wall regardless of quality. I have no clue how people use their Ikea furniture but stuff we got (Malm, Billy, Hemnes) lasted for years and some are still being used.
