The KitchenAid 7-Quart Bowl-Lift Stand Mixer with Redesigned Premium Touchpoints is a powerful and versatile kitchen appliance designed for serious home cooks and bakers. This professional-grade mixer features a robust motor that delivers twice the power in the bowl compared to KitchenAid's Tilt-Head Stand Mixer, making it ideal for heavy-duty mixing tasks. With its bowl-lift design and 3-point locking system, it provides exceptional stability when working with dense ingredients. The mixer offers 11 distinct speed settings, including a gentle 1/2 speed for folding delicate ingredients, giving you precise control over your mixing process. Its generous 7-quart capacity allows you to prepare large batches, easily mixing up to 13 dozen cookies, kneading over 8.5 pounds of bread dough, or mashing more than 7.5 pounds of potatoes. Measuring 28.73 cm in width, 37.15 cm in depth, and 41.91 cm in height, this stand mixer is a substantial addition to any kitchen. The package includes a 7-quart stainless steel bowl with an ergonomic handle, a double flex edge beater for thorough mixing and scraping, a stainless steel flat beater, a stainless steel dough hook, a stainless steel pastry beater, a pastry beater scraper, an 11-wire whip, and a pouring shield.

BIFL Which Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer
Bowl lift KitchenAid 7qt. That’s what my wife uses who is a professional baker. The industrial version is what the entire bakery chain Paris Baguette uses. If you think you need industrial, go for it, but I think you’ll be just fine with the standard bowl-lift.

What are some actual BIFL kitchen items?
I’m a kitchen enthusiast who has spent 20 years upgrading my kitchen tools. - All-clad Tri ply stainless steel. - Staub or Le Creuset cast iron Dutch ovens - Cast iron fry pan (keep it well seasoned and it will eventually become just as nonstick as a nonstick frypan. Better yet buy a vintage one with a smooth interior) - Shun or Global chef’s knife and paring knife - fiesta ware dinnerware, or simple white Corelle - cast iron griddle pan that you can place over two eyes on your stove, keep it seasoned for non-stick goodness - electric appliances will eventually wear out, but Breville small appliances are very well made and long lasting. - Norwex microfiber cloths - kitchen aid stand mixer - heavy gauge baking sheets and jelly pans - go to a restaurant supply store - Rubbermaid plastic containers (from restaurant supply store) - vitamix blender - invest in upgrading your kitchen cabinetry with pull out drawers and sliding shelves to maximize space and organization.

What are some actual BIFL kitchen items?
Good quality multiclad stainless steel pans with sealed rims. Cast iron pan. Stainless steel restaurant style cooking utensils. High carbon steel skillet instead of a Teflon pan. Lift bowl KitchenAid (size / wattage doesn't matter as they all have the same internal motor and gears--The different wattage rating is just a fabrication based on bowl size).

KitchenAid Mixer, no longer BIFL post-Millennium
Is this astroturfing? The Classic series has had almost no change in the past 50 years, and the parts that would possibly need to be replaced have been the same for around 90 years. The machine that barely changed internally since the K line began. The modern classic series is almost identical to the k45/ k45ss

BIFL, but also BISecondhand. What are some things that everyone should keep an eye out for, but can commonly be found for cheap when preowned.
Literally everything except socks and underwear, or something where the new price is not something worth worrying about, like a nalgene bottle or similar. I scored a literally free Kitchenaid Pro mixer with all the attachments; just needed to have its brushed reinstalled correctly. Lots of deals like that are out there - our consumer society is too lazy or busy to repair anything, so if you don't need something to be absolutely unblemished, lots of deals are out there if you are willing to put in a little effort.

What’s one product you bought that has lasted forever and was totally worth it?
I bought a Kitchenaid Pro Mixer off of a methed out construction worker in a Meijer parking lot for $40 (I had to haggle him down from $50) a couple of years ago.

Black Friday / Cyber Monday megathread: Post any deals on BIFL items here!
Right but unless you are really going to make a lot of dense bread, you should be fine with a KitchenAid Pro mixer. You can get them for under $400 easily on sale. Closer to $300.
