I ended up buying 3 x Levoit Core 400-SPs, one for each room, and they have been great. I used the [air purifier comparison sheet](https://www.reddit.com/user/mammoth_digger56/comments/1k1t9o8/air_purifier_brands_compared/) from the air purifiers subreddit to compare the specs of the Levoit models. I decided on the 400S, as it was slightly more powerful than the smaller Core and Vital options.

The Best Air Purifiers for Home that Acutally Works?
I’ve tried a bunch of air purifiers over the years because I have allergies and two cats, and honestly, some of them are just overpriced fans. The ones that actually work for me are the Coway Airmega AP-1512HH and the Levoit Core 400S. The Coway is a beast for bedrooms and living rooms—it’s quiet, has a legit HEPA filter, and you can really tell the air is fresher after running it for a few hours. Plus, the filter replacements aren’t crazy expensive. The Levoit is great if you want smart features and app control, and it covers a pretty big area for the price. Both of these actually help with dust, pet hair, and even cooking smells.

People with PETS, what is the best air purifier you've used for them? Do you notice a huge difference?
Heya, appreciate the shoutout! We definitely like the 5500-2, but we're also starting to see availability issues for that specific model, with it seemingly being phased out by the 5510, which we haven't tested yet. As far as other units we've tested, the Levoit Vital 200S and Levoit Core 400S are both very solid options too, though only the Vital has a bigger U-shaped inlet that would take a lot more pet hair to clog.
