Recently had my cheapo modern blender die and wanted something more BIFL. Hopped on the ol' eBay to get it. Behold, the Osterizer 847 from 1972! What can I say? I'm a sucker for avocado green. Made sure the blades were sharp enough and have been making smoothies in my kitchen since no problem.
You have to press down *so hard*, but it's totally worth it.

I have this! My grandmother found one on her buildings free table and she gave it to me and that has to have been about 25 years ago and I'm still using it for smoothies on the reg. You're right, it will never die.

This thing is so stoutly made, it feels like I could drop it and dent the counter!

Oh man me too. Had one of these as a kid and was fascinated by the different speeds and what they supposedly did.

I still have my original one from the mid-70s. I brought it out this summer and have been making all kinds of fruit smoothies and some fruit boozies, lol. The thing is still a workhorse!
