Presso Smartshot Manual Espresso Machine
Forget getting the coffee grind and tamping just right, the Presso eliminates the need to flex barista skills. Just spoon in coffee ground to espresso-fine or cafetiere-coarse and squeeze down the lever arms. Don't turn to Nespresso or Keurig when you can go one better, have a free choice of coffee, and be planet friendly. No electricity or single use capsules makes this the best eco-friendly way to make an espresso.

BIFL automatic espresso machine?
I have one; it's more than 40 years old. Bought it used about five years ago. Just needs some maintenance, but it runs like a clock. It is as trustworthy as you can get. However, it is really demanding. It is the opposite of an automatic. A closer relative to the automatic may be to buy the ROK Smartshot. Why? it has a pressurized basket (less learning curve, not as good espresso, comparable to an automatic). You can use pre-ground coffee, you can use a cheaper grinder and you get an indestructible machine. [https://rok.coffee/products/presso-smartshot](https://rok.coffee/products/presso-smartshot)

Looking for a BIFL espresso machine + other kitchen gadgets
True BIFL Espresso Machine: my La Pavoni. Bought it used about five years ago. It's an early 1980s model. I found it for around EUR100 or something like that on eBay. It was lost in the mail and I was refunded. Then it arrived, I paid the seller. It is a tank. Seriously. All parts are replaceable. I replaced the gaskets and shower screen when it arrived (it actually did not have a shower screen). Replaced the lever sometime after that. If you want something cheaper? The ROK GC Presso is also BIFL. I *also* have it. Don't ask me why I need to lives to max out my espresso maker setup.
