Minimalist beard trimmer for scruff?
Yeah the Wahl Peanut is pretty solid for that - gets close enough for razor follow-up and the guards are actually decent for consistent length

What’s the best beard trimmer that actually lasts?
My wife is a hairdresser and still has her Wahl Peanut she got for beauty school in 2006.

What’s the best beard trimmer that actually lasts?
Get a plug in. My wahl peanut is 15 years old- they have been making them for 30 basically unchanged. You can buy replacement parts easily and will be able to for the foreseeable future since they have been around forever. I use my trimmer in the bathroom and there is an outlet next to the mirror in every bathroom I’ve went to use it in over the last 15 years.

What’s the best beard trimmer if you want something that lasts long?
A huge part of performance and longevity is keeping the blades lubed. I lube my Wahl peanut once a month and it's doing great. And like everyone else said ditch battery operated ones.

I bought a Wahl Peanut. It is not luxurious. It is a compact workhorse.

What’s the best beard trimmer if you want something that lasts long?
Are you set on battery? A plug in model will last forever. And most people use them in the bathroom next to an outlet. I still use my wahl peanut I got for Christmas in high school over 15 yeaars ago. They have been around basically unchanged since the 90s. They are inexpensive. And have replacement parts and blades available on Amazon and most beauty supply stores.

Best downstairs hair trimmer for men?
Yeah . I feel for you men. Especially as you get older . My hubby complains his are sagging now . So it makes it even worse for him . We ladies have the tiny raisin to deal with . I’ve cut mine a couple times even with the guard on and it sucked ! I’ve used a wahl peanut all these years . But it died. Hubby and I both like to keep a little length to avoid the sandpaper feeling . We both have such thick hair that no matter how close we go with razors , it’s instant sandpaper that stays that way for DAYS . It’s uncomfortable for both of us in our own bodies , let alone during intimate times . Wish I’d not thrown my back out so many times waxing myself. That’s THE way to go . He said he’d learn to wax me and I know I can wax him . But I’m scared cuz I don’t think he knows what he’s signing up for if I wax him . Haha. 🤣. He’s watched me do my own waxing . And I’m really tough regarding the pain. But he can get a small cut on his finger and come running to me to doctor it . We both do construction and we’ve both gotten injured on the same day . His injury will be tiny and he freaks out . Meanwhile, I’ll have blood gushing down my arm and just wrap a rag around it and keep going 🤣🤣🤣

Zero guard beard trimmer that won't nick my neck and face? Does the Peanut nick?
I can second the Peanut being solid if you take your time - the trick is really keeping it flat against your skin and not getting too aggressive with it. That said, if you're already dealing with a dying battery on the Braun maybe look into just replacing the battery first since you already know it works for you

Zero guard beard trimmer that won't nick my neck and face? Does the Peanut nick?
I have not had my peanut nick or poke me at all. My larger Wahl trimmer is even more gentle, and the blade is adjustable. My Andis carving trimer was a closer shave but was more prone to poking and nicking. I do miss it though - gave up the ghost after about 20 years and I never replaced. Trimming sideburns was so nice with that trimmer and the peanut doesn't quite get as close. I guess it's a trade off.

Recommendations for electric trimmers?
I've used a corded Wahl Peanut for years and it's great. I have a corded Oster Speedline that I like, too. I don't travel with them, but IME corded anything just works better than cordless. The tradeoff is the portability.

Suggestions on facial hair trimmer?
For beard trimming to leave some stubble - wahl detailer, wet/dry, or peanut are all good. All slightly different from one another depending on what you want. If you want smooth razor like - panasonic arc3, 4, 5, or 6.

Smooth Beard Trimmer BIFL
Norelco 7000/9000 series stuff and wahl peanut are most recommended. Try searching through the subreddit for “trimmer” and you’ll see some comprehensive responses. My husband uses the norelco one blade and his only complaint is the guards are cheap plastic and break. The razor itself he’s used for ~7 years but he says it’s no good for the neck… he’s also a baby

Anyone know a good, cheap body trimmer and a good cheap clipper?
Not BIFL is it? Get a Wahl Peanut.

I finally pulled the trigger on the Wahl Peanut after hunting for something that could handle my dense beard and it’s been the smoothest trimmer I’ve ever used.

BIFL Cordless Beard Trimmer?
I use a cordless Wahl Peanut. It takes a standard rechargeable AA battery so you don’t have to worry about battery degradation. The only downside is the guard sizes are limited depending on what you need.

Hey does anyone know of a good body/face trimmer?
I just use my $50 Wahl peanut from 2008. Never changed the blade Folks also make 3d printable guards if the ones that come don't match the length you want

Which clippers should I buy? Not going over $200. Also doesnt have to be one of these but these are the two I’m considering
I have a Wahl Peanut that my stylist recommended and it's 8yrs old now and still works the same as it did, day one. Make sure you keep it clean, oiled and maintained - it'll be good to you.

100%. Had a Wahl Peanut for about a decade and it was awesome. Replaced it, sucked. Replaced the blade, sucked. Got another similar priced clipper, sucks. About to just buy a pro set.

I researched this recently and settled on a Wahl peanut with a cord. These are made in the USA and don't include a battery, which is something that can wear out. I got the peanut because it is small and light, which is important for me because I'm using the clippers to cut my own hair.

Yup, I got the Wahl Peanut as recommended by this sub about a decade ago. It's $64 now. Every once in a while I replace the blade. It's been flawless.

Which Beard Kit to buy out of these two?
I bought an already well-used Wahl Peanut from a barber friend for £15 in ~2010. Came with a couple of guards (luckily the ones I needed). That thing is still going strong today.
