Kaweco

Classic Sport Fountain Pen Gift Set

With the Kaweco Sport, something special was created in 1911: a pocket fountain pen that measured just 10.5 cm when closed, making it easy to carry, but expanded to a normal size with the cap repositioned. At the time, the pen was marketed especially to high society in evening wear and sportsmen. Hence, it was given the name "Sport." The series offers classic and historic colours and is further distinguished by its gold-plated steel nib, logo cap, and high-quality gold hot foil stamping. Writing instruments in the Classic Sport series are manufactured and assembled in Germany and are genuine quality products. Among the most famous users was Sepp Herberger. The then coach of the German national football team used the Kaweco Sport to capture his winning tactics, which led to the 1954 World Cup title. This fountain pen comes with a highly durable 23kt gold plated nib.

Before you buy

What to ask before buying a fountain pen

  1. Does this pen's design suit my specific grip and writing style?

Choosing a pen based on your personal ergonomics, not a generic ideal, ensures comfortable long-term use and prevents it from sitting unused.

  2. Are replacement nibs and parts readily available for this model?

Easy repairability with common parts is a core buy-it-for-life trait, allowing you to fix the pen yourself and keep it writing for decades.

  3. How does the pen's material and weight affect carrying it daily?

Consider if a heavier metal body's durability is worth the added carry weight versus a lighter, still robust plastic or aluminum model for EDC.

  4. Will this pen's filling system work with the inks I want to use?

A reliable filling mechanism that works well with your preferred inks is crucial for a hassle-free and enjoyable long-term ownership experience.

  5. Is the investment justified by the pen's construction and feel?

A higher initial cost is often justified by superior materials and a unique feel that makes the pen a cherished, lifelong tool.
