Kakuno Fountain Pen
The Pilot Kakuno Fountain Pen was designed with novice and experienced fountain pen users in mind. The Kakuno features a fun smiley face on the finely crafted nib to ensure the perfect writing position. One cartridge of black Ink is included with the pen. Pilot Kakunos only use Pilot Brand cartridges. A simple guide to fountain pen point sizes: Extra Fine is for tiny writers and people who want to write a line thickness similar to their gel pens. A favorite to use in Japanese planners. Fine is most people's favorite. It is a good middle ground between very fine writing, without being too scratchy. Medium is great for beginners because it will be very smooth to write with and will be easier to write with! Larger nib sizes have a wider angle of acceptable writing positions.

What's a purchase under $50 that has genuinely improved your daily routine?
I’ve somewhat just gotten into the FP game recently. Been using Pilot Kakunos mostly, and just picked up the Safari a few weeks ago. It writes really smoothly. I do like that the nibs are fairly easily interchangeable as well.

Brands you swear by that have Buy It For Life quality products
+1. Man, I got a Pilot Kakuno ($10) after using a Montblanc ($1000+) for years. And now, I reach for the Kakuno over the expensive one, every time. Well, except at some important formal-type meeting.

What is a pen that you have bought for life and you actually use it everyday and it is your first go-to, as if it’s become an extension of your arm and you feel connected with the page?
Pilot Kakuno- refillable fountain pen designed for Japanese children. I’ve had mine for nearly 5 years and use it daily, super durable as it’s for kids and I find it really comfortable to hold! I think they’re less than $15 on Amazon
