Tough casual-cool outdoor gear for nature lovers eager to get off the beaten path! Introducing the Casio Pro Trek PRG-340B, a solar-powered PRO TREK with key components made of bio-based resin, a material expected to help reduce environmental impact. Packed with advanced features and total practicality, this PRO TREK is ready for every outdoor setting. The Triple Sensor delivers compass bearing, barometric pressure, altitude, and temperature readings, and the Tough Solar system keeps you charged. The watch features key components made with bio-based resin and a cloth band made of CASTLON, treated with a flame retardant finish. CASTLON is a 100% plant-derived Nylon 11 fiber produced using castor oil plants. This carbon-neutral material not only helps reduce environmental impact, but is also stronger and lighter with better wear resistance, chemical resistance, and flexibility at low temperatures than the conventional Nylon 6.

What BIFL mistakes have you made?
IMO the best watch on the market is any Casio Pro Trek with a crystal face, solar and multiband 6. They are basically gshocks with extra stuff. Always accurate, very tough and never need charging.

One of the most bombproof, apocalypse ready watches you can buy.
My Casio Protrek is Solar Powered, going on almost 20 years old now.

Is there anything you're convinced is "the cheaper the better"?
Yea except Casio isn't the cheapest anymore. There's like 3 tiers of watches under them now. Also you can find some models of Casio that are pricier. (Not like Rolex pricey, but I've got a $150 Casio ProTrek.)

The most durable watch in and around 20 dollars.
Casio G-Shock alternatives: Casio Pro Trek or Casio Oceanus. Both are durable and budget-friendly.

Looking for extremely durable watch, preferably wind up/self winding
I love my casio pro-sport. It's solar powered so I never have to recharge it. I know mechanical sounds cool, but for an outdoor watch it really won't hold up to the same abuse as a digital one.
