Mirra 2 Chair
The lean, light Mirra 2 Task Chair (2013) has a spry, playful form but is plenty serious when it comes to passive and active adjustments, hassle-free support, sustainable credentials, and a fresh choice of finishes. This chair is especially well-suited for people who like to stretch and move throughout their day. Breathable materials keep your body cool, while the base and spine—now made from 100% recycled content—offer the same comfort and performance with a lighter footprint. Choose from a graphite or alpine frame and an inspired palette to define your style, from clean and monochromatic to bright color blocks. This is the authentic Mirra 2 by Herman Miller.

Looking for an office chair, but can't spend a $1k+ on a Herman Miller. Are there any cheaper alternatives I can get online?
I got a Mirra for $170 used and it was the best money I’ve ever spent!!

Got a Mirra used from a warehouse space in Denver where they absolutely could have murdered me and no one would have known. A deal is a deal though and thankfully they did not murder me. Replaced the cylinder and armrests a year or two ago but it has otherwise gone strong for the better part of a decade now and I don’t foresee needing to replace it any time soon.

LOVE the Mirra. Better than the Aeron IMO.

I got my girlfriend a Mirra 2 on FB marketplace for $250, confirmed it’s legit.. Looked brand new, the guy got it from his job and had a different model HM he preferred. Keep an eye out for deals and you can find one. I have an Embody (purchased new 4 years ago) that I love every damn day, used 6-10 hours per day.

Or a Mirra. Runs a bit cheaper but otherwise a similar chair.

Honestly a used herman miller is your best bet. For back pain the embody chair is the best on the market, but if you can’t find one used there are a lot of mirra and aeron.

The Best Ergonomic Office Chair and Most Comfortable To Buy at the Moment?
Everyone is going to say Herman Miller or Steelcase and they're all going to be right. Personally I'd suggest the Herman Miller Mirra 2 - it's the most adjustable. HOWEVER - you say "most comfortable" - that's not actually what you want. You want correct posture, and that isn't necessarily the most comfortable. My Mirra 2 is incredibly ergonomic (after careful adjustment) and I can sit in it for hours a day and be absolutely fine - 12+ hours a day during COVID between work and games. In fact when I have back issues from carrying a wiggly toddler, sitting in it for a few hours makes me feel better. But it's not comfortable like sitting on the sofa is.

Herman Miller or Steelcase office chair?
Which you prefer will depend on your anatomy and how you move around while you sit. For me, the Aeron and Mirra are more comfortable than any Steelcase I've tried (both Leaps, Gesture, Amia, Series 2). They just suit my back the best, and I prefer their free rocking to the way Steelcases lock in place. Also, I've grown really dependent on their forward tilt feature. In comparison, other chairs now seem to sit way too far back. I'd also argue the Aeron has a stronger claim to BIFL status, since the Leap's upholstery flattens with time and is expensive to replace. The only part of the Aeron that wears out is the seat foam, which you can replace for less than $20. That said, Steelcases have a lot of advantages. The Leap V1 is the cushiest, most luxuriant office chair I've tried—you can almost treat it like a recliner. The Leap V2 is almost as comfortable despite the foam being thinner. Also, depending on where you live, Steelcases are easier to find cheap on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. I've snagged a Leap V1 for free and a Leap V2 for $75. I had to wait a *long* time to get a used Aeron for $300.

The Best and Most Comfortable Ergonomic Office Chair To Buy Now?
This is where I found mine. Dude had a two car garage full of Herman Miller Aerons, Sayls, Mirras and some Steecase options too. I sat in a couple and picked the prettiest Aeron I could find (got one with shiny aluminum!). Craigslist can work too, and there might be business liquidators in any given area.

My local office supply store doesn't have Aerons. What are some other chairs that are just as good?
I've been sitting in a Mirra for going on a decade now and I can't see myself needing anything more. Lumbar support is good, mesh seat and plastic back are well ventilated, I've never had any need for a head rest. Picked it up for \~£180 from an outlet, it's without a doubt the lowest investment to highest use item I own by a large margin, with only computer monitors and wired headphones coming anywhere near in cost compared to time used.

Office chair for 250+ lbs used for 12+ hours a day
Buy Herman Miller on Craigslist. There are ALWAYS people selling theirs. I picked up a used Mirra 2 in mint condition for $200. It's the best chair I've ever owned.

Best Office Chairs Under $1000
+1 to Herman Miller I bought a used Mirra fully loaded. The chair is not comfortable when you sit in it initially. Don’t be fooled. I work 12-14 work days in it without any fatigue it’s comfort is in never getting uncomfortable. The chair was 4 years old when I bought it and is 2 years now. Still like brand new.

Office chair that won’t flatten after a year or two?
Husband is 6’8” he has two different herman miller chairs (one at office one at home)One is the Mirra and the second one is Cosm. There is a huge second hand market for all Hermann Miller chairs and many many retailers. You can go to actually sit on one at a retailer before you buy. Or go the second hand route. Husband is very particular and we have had zero issues with them. They have a great warranty as well.

Office chair that won’t flatten after a year or two?
herman miller aeron or mirra. I can't go back to any other chair or at least need one with a mesh seat from another brand. work got me a herman miller sayl a while ago and I just couldn't get used to a cushion seat again and kept using my personal mirra 1 at home. The mirra is a cheaper alternative to the aeron that I at this point prefer because the back is solid

PSA: Secretlab chairs are overpriced bullshit
I liked the Mirra but sadly the seat pan was a touch too small for me. I swapped it for a Steelcase Leap V2 and it's a dream.

Cost efficient ergonomic chairs for neck support?
Get yourself a used Herman Miller chair off Craigslist. I got my Mirra 2 for $200 and it's the best chair I've owned (and I'm 58).

Looking for a mesh office chair to help with back pain
If you can, try to go to a used furniture place where you can try a few models. I went in thinking I wanted an Aeron and left with a Mirra 2. Just fits my body better.

Alternatively a Herman Miller Mirra 2 that has broader adjustment so only comes in one size. It's what I've got and it's great. The Aeron has won so many design awards that they can't really change and improve the design.
