Best Air purifier to reasonable price? for Smoke and garbage smell
I can't speak for Blueair or for Asthma, but we have been happy with the Puroair 130 and added another in the home office. My husband is a smoker and that space doesn't reek now. Also look at Airfanta.

Best air purifier to buy right now?
For a \~200 sq ft room with dust and mild allergies, look for a unit with **true HEPA**, a decent **CADR**, and quiet operation. A good choice is the PuroAir 140 Air Purifier, it uses real HEPA plus carbon, cleans dust and pollen well, stays quiet on lower speeds, and has easy filter changes. Focus on true HEPA, CADR for your room size, and reasonable filter costs rather than bells and whistles.

Best air purifier to buy right now?
For a room around 200 sq ft with dust, pollution and mild allergies, the things that really matter are true HEPA filtration, a good CADR rating, quiet noise levels, and reasonable filter costs. Fans and fancy smart features are nice, but the core is how well it cleans the air and how easy it is to live with every day. One unit I’d recommend that hits those points is the PuroAir 140 Air Purifier. It has a true HEPA filter, which actually captures very fine particles like dust, pollen, and smoke (much better than cheap filters that just trap big dust). It also uses an activated carbon layer to help reduce odors and city pollution smells. For a \~200 sq ft room it has enough airflow to cycle the air often, and on lower fan speeds it stays quiet enough to sleep near. Here’s why I think it’s a good value: **✔ True HEPA for real dust and pollen capture** Not all “HEPA style” filters are equal — this one is real HEPA, which matters for allergy relief. **✔ Quiet operation on low/medium** You can run it overnight without it being distracting. **✔ Easy maintenance** Filter swaps are simple and not crazy expensive compared to the unit price. **✔ Good value overall** It balances performance and price better than many premium brands that charge a lot for smart screens and fancy lights but not much better cleaning. Some features I pay attention to personally: * **True HEPA** not just “HEPA type” * **CADR rating** matched to my room size * **Filter cost and how often they need changing** * **Noise at different fan speeds** * **Simple controls without lots of useless extras** Other brands like Dyson and Coway are fine too, but you often pay a premium for design and extra bells that don’t improve core air cleaning as much. PuroAir gives you solid performance where it counts.
