It has many features to enhance your cleaning needs. Belt protection and suction motor protection are two features that extend the life of the vacuum. When you lower the handle flat, the low six-inch profile allows you to clean under beds and other furniture. There is a handy warning light that indicates whether your brush height is set too high for optimal cleaning or when the brush roller should be replaced due to bristle wear. There is also a Bag Full or Clog light which prevents overheating and motor damage from lack of adequate airflow. The 31 foot cord reduces the number of electrical outlet changes needed during use. The brush roller is easily removed for cleaning; it requires no tools and ensures consistently effective brush agitation of the carpet. The Sebo Felix 1 Premium vacuum cleaner has a detachable suction unit that becomes a portable, hand-held vacuum, ideal for cleaning stairs, furniture or car interiors. It has a 12 inch wide power head and one-sided edge cleaning. This upright is white.

Advice for first vacuum purchase in new apartment
Given you already understand that the stick vacs are pretty trash and are looking and corded bagged ones, you’re already over the major hurdle. I’d personally suggest the SEBO Felix. It’s upright so it doesn’t take up as much space and does an excellent job. I’d definitely say spend the bit extra and get the Felix over the Dart. I got a Dart thinking the savings would be worth the compromises but have ended up basically bought the parts from the Felix to turn it into one over time. Would’ve been cheaper to just get the nicer one in the first place. Especially the swivel head. Maneuvering it is a pain without that. Also notable that depending on your carpet, you may need the soft bristle brush for it. The regular one was too stiff and got stuck in my carpet with how hard the vacuum sucks it down. It’s definitely very repairable and does a fantastic job of cleaning. It also takes forever to fill the bag to the point it hurts the performance. It can get extremely full before any loss of suction.

New Vacuum needed and suggestions?
Stick vacuums aren't generally BIFL, also true of anything that runs on batteries. I'd say look into Sebo. I recently got a Felix and I've been absolutely loving it.

If you filter by subreddits the sebo felix tops, followed by the sebo airbelt e3. Probably should have made an image with the r/buyitforlife filter applied, but you can play around with the filters here [https://redditrecs.com/vacuum-cleaner/](https://redditrecs.com/vacuum-cleaner/)

In between buying two vacuum cleaners- help me decide!
Ask r/vacuumcleaners And imo both are excellent. But we can’t answer this for you. You should visit a dealer and test drive both. One is a canister style and one is an upright. It’s very much personal preference. Personally I’d also add a Sebo k3 to your shopping list.

Best vacuum cleaner?
Went from a Dyson V10 to a Sebo Felix Premium and I’m never looking back. German built and all parts are replaceable, very repair friendly. :)

The official SEBO account on Twitter is always interacting with tweets that mention them, but for some reason, when I posted a sexy photoshoot of a woman humping the SEBO FELIX and wrote about what a great vacuum it is, they did not respond at all. Not even a like from them. At least they didn't block me though.

Another vote to the Sebo Felix here. It's pretty comparable to the Dart from OP's list. It's powerful, lightweight, serviceable, relatively quiet, and has WAY better suction than my old Dyson.
