What’s the best beard trimmer if you want something that lasts long?
I bought the Wahl Professional Unicord Combo, Corded Magic Clip Clipper & Razor Edger Trimmer Set. To me it they feel like endgame products. Solid professional level equipment that will be BIFL.

Name your top 5 BIFL items
1) Gaggia Espresso machine - for when I'm feeling a fancy coffee 2)moccammaster - for the mornings to brew coffee for the wife and I 3) Wahl magic clips for keeping my beard trimmed and neat 4) a nice set of stainless steel pans 5) Vintage Rolex watch - this is not a necessity but it really helps with my outfits for work. And with proper care and service will run for another 25 years

Recommendations for men’s trimmer/razor
If your beard is thick, a corded clipper will get though anything. Wahl Magic Clip is what I use. Or there are cordless versions too. But I also just bought a cordless Andis slimline pro gtx for travel, detailing, and when my beard is shorter. So far so good. Much smaller than the Wahl (but less powerful).

I got some knock off amazon wahl magic clips. Put the real magic clip blade on it and they have been awesome for 5 plus years of weakly fades.

I have the corded magic clip, it has worked really well cutting my hair and beard for the last 2.5 years. Wahl customer service is worth it. I bought the magic clip to replace a 15 year old Wahl trimmer that I broke due to negligence. I emailed their support and even though the trimmer was discontinued they shipped me upgraded replacement parts for free to fix it. Now I have two trimmers, my old one as a backup just in case of a trimmer emergency lol.

Beard trimmer reccomendations?
I use Wahl Magic Clip, but yes guards are typically for shorter to medium beards. Just use a comb and clippers like a barber does to groom a longer beard. That's what I do. The problem with very long guards is that facial hair is typically wavy or curly, so you won't get a clean length consistently.

Hair clippers for men
Love Moser the company and the product. I have visited the factory and was amazed by the quality. They are now owned by Wahl (another German brand I would certainly recommend) and still made in the same factory under both the Moser and Wahl name. Since Wahl has grown and bought a few of the competitors, it brings up the point that there are still very high quality Wahl products out there and very low quality products that have the Wahl name on them. If you buy a $32 Wahl set from Walmart, it is not from the same origin as the Moser 1400 or the Wahl Magic Clip or other Wahl models with the 5 stars.

which clippers? Wahl Professional Balding or Wahl Professional Magic?
No because the balding clipper doesn’t have a lever. You technically can fade with it but you have to be EXTREMELY precise with it. The magic clip has a 0.1-1.2 mm level range when closed to open which makes it easier to fade. It also has a fade blade which is meant to fade.
