L.L. Bean Gore Tex Cresta Hiking Boots
I’ve had 5 pairs. They last about 3-4 years if wound daily. Just upgraded to Danner Mountain light 2. Next level construction.

BIFL *women's* winter boots, waterproof, arch support, please
I totally feel your frustration with the women's vs mens boot quality difference, it's maddening how often this happens. For New England winters with your specific needs, I'd suggest looking at Danner women's Mountain Light or Mountain 600 boots - they're built with the same quality standards as their men's versions and have excellent arch support without any faux fur nonsense. The full grain leather holds up incredibly well to winter conditions and they're resoleable which makes them truly BIFL. Another option worth considering is Vasque women's St. Elias or Snowburban boots, both have solid arch support and come in narrow widths if that helps with the wobble issue you had with Keene. Since you mentioned overpronation support specifically, you might also want to look into custom orthotics regardless of which boot you choose - I actually went through IAMBIC (they do custom fitted shoes and boots) for my foot issues and the difference in support was incredible, though they might be outside your timeline since custom work takes longer. For immediate options that should work well, I'd also check out Merrell Thermo boots or Salomon women's winter hiking boots, both brands tend to have consistent quality between mens and womens versions and good arch support built in.

A decade in across two continents and my Frye’s are still going strong!
I got 10+ years out of a pair of Danner Mountain Lights, similar experience with Red Wings. Good boots are a worthwhile investment! Nice Fryes!

I'm team Danner. Danner Mountain Light IIs have worn really well, are leather and canvas, take waterproofing well, and are fully rebuildable if you buy their Made in the USA line with Vibram soles. I've had one pair rebuilt twice and they're like slippers. I put a lot of miles on my boots during hunting season across a few states. I like the way Crispi boots fit out of the box but destroyed my first pair of Thors in 18 months and my next in half as many. They're also not rebuildable. I've tried the offshore Danners and they don't wear as nicely and I've had de-lamination issues.
