Oral-B lied about the iO Series toothbrush battery... it's user-replaceable!
There absolutely is an option to turn that off: [How to turn on/off Bluetooth Oral-B iO Series 6 through 10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Q6yPcRCnEI) Battery replacement is also very simple, one of the easiest repairs anyone can do in 5 to 10 minutes: [ How to replace an Oral-B iO battery](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dEPyCYw39o) . Of course, I'm a person who has reupholstered their own car, fixed their own toilet, etc. so my definition of easy repair might be different than yours. But it really is a simple repair. As hinted in the battery disposal section of the official manual, the toothbrush was literally designed with battery access in mind. If you do that, then you'd have 2 working toothbrushes or you'd even be able to consider returning the new one.

Which oral b electric toothbrush should I get?
I like Oral b but the battery life is bad. I’ve had it 100% charged put it in my mouth 5 seconds later it is 0% and stopped covered in toothpaste. I had an expensive Io series 8. The app is useless in my opinion and adds a lot to the expense. Quad timer is pretty useless to me, because I clean some areas way more (like back of bottom teeth) and I don’t pay equal attention to each quadrant. Id get something with pressure warning. The two minute timer is somewhat helpful if you don’t brush long enough instinctively. Paying over $100 US dollars probably isn’t worth it. The apps are probably useful if you are new to brushing your teeth. Bluetooth is also unnecessary, and probably wastes the battery quicker.

Best electric toothbrush?
I’ve been using the Oral-B iO Series 8 for over a year and it’s the only one that actually made my teeth feel dentist-level clean without shredding my gums.

Oral-B lied about the iO Series toothbrush battery... it's user-replaceable!
Think you are onto something with the Bluetooth, I've turned it off and will keep an eye on it. I've ordered a larger capacity battery so I'll replace that anyway.
