Lifetime returns
The Black Hole Mini MLC from Patagonia is a robust soft pack suitcase that meets even the strictest standards for inflight luggage. MLC stands for Maximum Legal Carry-On and is therefore self-explanatory. Thanks to the proven Black Hole material, the bag is a safe and durable travel bag. This versatile mini soft pack has a packing volume of 26 liters and can be opened easily and conveniently - for structured and fast packing. The main compartment is easily accessible and consists of two parts so that all items are clearly arranged and easily accessible. You can store your shoes separately from your clothes in a second zip pocket. The Black Hole Mini MLC also has two outside pockets. This is a safe place for your keys, electronic devices, travel documents, wallet and smartphone. The three carrying options make the bag practical and versatile: as a shoulder bag with the padded shoulder strap, as a backpack with the ergonomic tank tops that can be stowed in a zippered compartment or as a briefcase using the handles on the top and sides. The Black Hole Mini MLC is ideal as a carry-on suitcase or as a compact bag for a weekend trip. So what are you waiting for?

Cabin bag that last for years
Depends on your location. Baggage sizing will differ between airline and regions. Are you talking about something which you onebag and put under the seat, or something you are allowed to stow overhead? For overhead I used a 40L Patagonia Black Hole duffle. The MLC is too big for European airlines. Under the seat I use a Cotopaxi Allpa 20L. Soft bags are better as you can squeeze them into the sizers if you need to.

Duffle Bag Recommendation
If you need something that's mostly waterproof, durable, and available in colors other than grey, black or coyote tan, a TNF Base Camp duffel is the ticket, or the similar Patagonia Black Hole. The first is available in multiple sizes, from little more than a gym bag to a 150 liter monster.

Backpack recs-Lands End ended up disappointing
We started using a Patagonia Black Hole for my elementary age son. I wouldn't have purchased it for him but it was a previous purchase neither of his parents are using as a personal item on a plane anymore.

Duffle Bag Recommendation
If you’re looking for a bullet proof duffel bag check out Sea to Summit’s options. They make the Patagonia Black Hole bags feel flimsy. They’re also currently 50% off on Sea to Summit’s website.

Anyone keep a “BIFL Roster”?
Patagonia has a few others IMO in various categories that could be considered: * Patagonia Blackhole bags/duffels * Patagonia Nano Puffs * Patagonia R1 line

The Best Backpacks for Travel Available Now?
I absolutely love my Patagonia mlc line, I have both sizes, the smaller is the maximum size to be a personal item, the larger is the maximum size for carry on, both are great packs with gold storage and amazing build.

Looking For a Suitcase for a 2 Week Trip
Those cheaper aluminum suitcases aren’t going to last, especially with the spinner wheels. If you’re willing to spend $300 per bag, much better to go with a travelpro with rollaboard wheels. I managed to snag one from one of the crew collections that they don’t sell through their regular website, and it’s the best. And for a carry-on, Patagonia duffels are my favorite and still fairly comfortable to carry as a backpack. Go for the MLC if you want some sort of organization; I know it comes in black.

Duffel bag and other luggage suggestions?
Duffel bag go with Patagonia black hole or north face base camp. I got a used north face base camp I got cheap on eBay. Patagonia seems like it will last forever and the new color schemes are much subtler than thanks ones. I have a small rei roadtripper and love it. Both my road tripper and Patagonia black hole pack up in to a small cube.

Looking for a cross body bag for life
My Chloe Marci bag set me back a pretty penny, but its been my daily driver for 12 years and is still going strong- IMO a timeless design that's not flashy. If you're looking for something sporty as your reference photo suggests, perhaps try something from Patagonia (Pattagucci ;) I love my Black Hole which has survived serious abuse. Looks like they have a sale right now and offer 4% cash back from Rakuten.

After my Disneyworld with my family my old Jansport backpack just isn't cutting it anymore. Time for me to get an upgrade.
Patagonia Black Hole for a durable, lightweight version.
