The Patagonia Black Hole Duffel 55L was built to meet the demands of mountain professionals and commuters alike. The tough, weather-resistant Black Hole duffel bag has enough space for a fun weekend or well-organized trip. Ultra abrasion-resistant ripstop fabric along with TPU-lamination and reinforced stitching resist the effects of rough surfaces and sharp tools. The Black Hole Duffel also has a padded base to protect the interior contents and internal compression for easier packing. Burly reinforced daisy chains makes lashing gear to the outside of this Patagonia Duffel quick and easy. Zippered full-access opening to main compartment makes quick work of getting gear packed and unpacked and the fact that it stuffs into its own pocket for easy storage makes this Patagonia Duffel super easy to store when not in use. The Black Hole Duffel was designed with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and features padded shoulder straps and reinforced haul handles for easy carrying. The Patagonia Black Hole 55 Liter Duffel is one tough travel bag that's just waiting to get geared up. Available at Travel Country Outfitters.

Which Carry On is the Best?
I have a patagonia 60L black hole duffle. It has straps to wear as a backpack. I use compression straps when I'm traveling domestically and think I might hit that size limit. For International travel, I dont have to use the compression straps.

Yeti Crossroads 60L duffle at Costco for $200. Good buy or no?
For $200 you could get a Patagonia Black Hole 60L that'll outlast the Yeti and costs like $150. Yeti's great for coolers but their bags are just overpriced hype imo

Yeti Crossroads 60L duffle at Costco for $200. Good buy or no?
Yeti makes amazing coolers, but for soft goods, you’re paying a massive brand tax. $200 is still a lot when a Patagonia Black Hole is lighter and has a better warranty

thinking of splurging on a luggage set, any recs that'll last for years?
Patagonia black hole duffle is what I use. It’s pushing a decade with hardly a scratch.

Looking for recs on an overnight bag
Am a fan of the Patagonia black hole duffle. 35l or whatever is closest or fits your need. Also, the Peak Design duffle is nice and different looking than the PBH. Wouldn’t recc the LLBean adventure duffles anymore. Mine disintegrated and got bad ugly beforehand.

Duffle Bag Recommendation
Patagonia Black Hole Duffels. Tons of options. My favorite duffle bags. They’re fantastic, and the warranty is rock solid. They’ll repair, replace, or refund for the life of the product, and for normal wear and tear, they often offer a generous discount. If you happen to live near an outlet, you can usually find them 1/2 price with the same warranty.

The Best Backpacks for Travel Available Now?
Depends on how you define comfy and practical. For me this translates to a Patagonia Blackhole, because for me it’s practical and comfy to not have thousands of straps and predefined functions/storages on how to load a backpack.

What’s one item you bought that has lasted for YEARS and was worth every penny?
Patagonia black hole duffle - I use it as a carry-on when I travel and if I am desperate, it becomes a checked bag. Also great for small trips!
