Backpack suggestions?
If repairing is not an option I absolutely adore my North Face backpack. I have the surge which was the largest women’s backpack at the time. The bags they sell have a structured spine to make it easier for your back to carry heavy items so if anything I recommend a brand that offers that feature as well. I have had my backpack for 8 years and still looks brand new. I am a teacher who can be rough in things and I use it every day in the school year (usually is 15-20lbs), along with every flight. It’s the easiest to carry for long periods in comparison to my other backpacks. Plus as a carry on it fits under my seat just fine. But also, wear both straps! I have a bad back from dance and it makes me irk when students wear them hella low.

I have a North Face Surge pack that's almost 20yrs old. Still works great with no significant wear.

Nobody has said it yet, but I've had my North Face Surge II for close to 14 years now and don't plan to replace it.
