Comfortable work boots?
You might want to check out the Thorogood american heritage moc toe boots, they’re right around $200-$250 (sometimes just under on sale) and built like tanks. Made in the USA, resolable and can easily last a decade+ if you take care of them. If you widen your budget by like a $100 you can get some truly BIFL quality options like redwings

Thorogood’s BFL? Even though I found them in the dumpster?
I wear Thorogoods for my job, mine specifically are the Trail Crazy Horse w/steel toe, and mine are union made in USA. I absolutely love them, I find the very comfortable and I've no serious issues since first buying them

Thorogood’s BFL? Even though I found them in the dumpster?
I have a pair of Irish Setter style moc toe Thorogood boots and they're salty as hell. Re-soled them and they're still great. Solid brand.

Sneakers or boots for daily wear.
I work in a warehouse and I've worn Thorogood moc boots and Jim Green AR8's. They both hold up well, but the latter are much more comfortable due to the wider toe box. I recommend getting some aftermarket insoles like Superfeet Green and some good thick socks (I use Darn Tough Socks). Boots take awhile to break in and you will get blisters - buy some Leukotape P to help with that.
