You’re probably looking at either Timex or Casio. I have a few Casios and they have all been great for beater watches, but none of them have been subjected to serious abuse. I have a Timex Expedition that is over 25 years old. I bought it in Basic Training, and it has survived multiple deployments, hiking, hunting, etc. and still functions fine. Based on my experience, even though the Expedition is not marketed as shock resistant like the G-Shock, it has survived things that have caused G-Shocks to quit.

Durable Watch for hands on work
Timex represent! I'm a fibre optic engineer, I'm on site now and wearing my Expedition. Only thing I've done is put it on an aftermarket canvas strap (Archer)
