Best Air Fryer Recommendations?
it depends on your budget - i have always liked the breville smart oven air fryer pro. admittedly, it's more a countertop convection oven w really good air frying setting, rather than a true standalone air fryer so ymmv. (i personally have the pro but there is a smaller version; ime main difference is the capacity - some presets are missing but you can customize all the settings to replicate them.) i do feel it's worth the money based on how frequently i use it, how many 'jobs' it does, and its durability. i don't like the 'upgraded' version that requires app use so i can't speak to the quality etc of the joule line.

The Best Air Fryers on the Market to Buy? Recommendations?
The only complaint I have about our Breville Smart Oven Air is that it's not really an air fryer. It works for air frying, but not nearly as well as an actual air fryer. When reading cooking instructions, I usually set it on air fryer mode, but the time and temp are somewhere between the directions for air fry and conventional baking. For example if it says air fry 360° for 6-8min or bake at 425° for 13-15min, I will set put it in air fry mode on 400° for 10min or so. I love that it fits a full 9x13" baking dish and we use it daily for baking and toasting. We only use our full size oven for holidays or if we have 2-3 things that have to bake. Anyone else?

The Best Air Fryers on the Market to Buy? Recommendations?
Breville Smart Oven Air for my needs. Bought for about $225 7+ years ago. Use it almost daily and has mostly replaced the traditional oven. r/airfryers

What’s a small upgrade you made that ended up being way more impactful than expected?
A Breville Smart Oven Pro! It is on the pricey side ($500 CAD during Black Friday sale) but it’s been so worth it. Had it for about a week now and we have used it every single day. Saves on using the oven so it will essentially pay for itself soon enough!

What have you used the most at home these two years?
Second this. Got the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro on sale for $300 since 2021 and we've been using it every day, barely use our oven!

The Best Toaster Oven???? Does it exist, do you care???
Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro. We got one recently and it puts every other countertop oven to shame. It’s a bit big though if you don’t have the counter space for it.

The Best Air Fryer at the Moment? Recommendation?
Air fryer is just an oven with a fan, "convection" oven. Skip all the plastic in your food and use a traditional convection oven or get something like Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro

The Best Air Fryer available now? Recommendation
I’ve tested a few air fryers over the years, and if you’re looking for something that’s truly built to last, the **Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro** is a beast. It’s not just an air fryer—it’s a full-on countertop convection oven that air fries, roasts, bakes, dehydrates, and even proof dough. The build quality is on another level, and it doesn’t feel flimsy or plasticky like a lot of others. It’s pricey, but absolutely worth it if you use it often. If you want something more compact but still durable, the **Ninja Foodi DualZone (DZ201 or DZ550)** has been amazing. Two baskets means you can cook separate things at once with different temps and times, which I didn’t think I’d need but now use all the time. It’s sturdy, cleans up easily, and heats evenly. Other BIFL-worthy picks: * **Cuisinart TOA-65** – strong metal housing, toaster oven-style, and super versatile * **Instant Vortex Plus 6QT** – easy to use, solid construction, and gets hot fast * **COSORI Pro III 6.8QT** – newer model with solid internals and good long-term reviews coming in What I’ve learned is that materials and design matter a lot—stainless steel parts, solid door hinges, and real convection-style heating give you the best shot at longevity.

Christmas gift from MIL
I'm not sure it's entirely BIFL because mine just gets constant use/abuse, but the Breville BOV900BSS toaster oven is the best thing I've bought for my kitchen in years. I've literally never turned on the gas oven (I hate gas ovens) in our new apartment because this baby roasts chickens, bakes cakes, broils salmon, etc. It's $399 so you can max out our MIL's generosity :)!

Best Air Fryers to Buy?
I have the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro BOV900BSS, Brushed Stainless Steel - a combo convection oven and air fryer. I have had mine for years. When it is on sale (a few times a year), it is about $329. I purchased one for my mother and mother-in-law. They both love it and use it instead of their regular ovens. Both Wirecutter and America’s Test Kitchen give it high ratings.

Are Breville toaster ovens worth it? I found one nearly at half pric e
I've had a smart oven BOV900<some more letters> for about 5 years now and I would probably buy another one. We use it more than the big oven because we're just cooking for 2 people. It heated perfectly evenly for a couple of good years of being used at least once per day. It now has some slight hot and cold spots, but nothing major. I did have to take it apart to replace a door spring about a year ago, which was a pain in the ass to figure out how to do it and I had to find a third party part because they do not sell much of anything in the way of DIY replacement parts. I don't use all of the features like dehydrating, but the rest of the capabilities all work as advertised. I will say that the air fryer capability is not quite as good as a standard countertop air fryer with a basket with a handle that you can shake. If you shake the basket in the smart oven, you're just making a mess for yourself to clean up later, and it doesn't jostle the food that well anyway. But other than the slightly inferior air fryer and that one small repair complaint, I'm pretty happy with it overall. I live in a very hot climate where we run the AC like 9 months out of the year, so there's a lot of value in not having to turn on the big oven very often. I will probably always have a product like this one on my countertop.

I have had the Smart Air+ for 5 years now and love it. It gets used far more than large, gas oven.
