Brew cafe-quality coffee at home with the Moccamaster by Technivorm KB in brushed silver, a beloved choice for coffee lovers who care about both flavor and consistency. Designed to make your morning routine smoother and your coffee breaks more enjoyable, this automatic drip coffee maker brews a full 40-ounce pot in just six minutes, so there’s always enough to share when friends or family drop by. The KB model features a classic glass carafe paired with a manual-adjust brew basket, giving you control over how quickly coffee flows into the carafe. Slow it down for a more extended extraction or speed it up when you want your pot ready fast—the choice is yours, and you don’t need to be a barista to get it right. This thoughtful design helps you dial in a brew that suits your taste while still keeping things delightfully simple and approachable. A standout feature of the KB is its unique hot plate, engineered with a separate, independent heating element that gently rolls heat into the coffee. Instead of blasting your brew with harsh, direct heat, the hot plate maintains an even temperature from the first pour to the last sip, helping preserve flavor and aroma. The auto shut-off hot plate also offers two temperature settings, so you can hold your coffee at either 175°F or 185°F without worrying about it scorching or turning bitter over time. With its sleek brushed silver finish, the Moccamaster by Technivorm KB looks at home on any countertop, whether you’re brewing your first cup of the day, topping off mugs during a leisurely brunch or pouring after-dinner coffee for guests. This is a coffee maker built to support everyday rituals and easy gatherings—just good coffee, brewed well, ready whenever you’re ready to pour another cup.

Need a quality coffee maker
I did pour-over coffee, aeropress, or moka pots for a long time and even had a pretty good espresso machine for a while. I got a Technivorm Moccamaster last year and love it. I've chosen my preferred bean, dialed in my grind size and amount on my grinder, and now I have consistently amazing coffee every morning, zero hassle, just joy.

What's the best BIFL item you own?
Pendleton blanket. Crock pot (basic 4qt), Technivorm Moccamaster, Baratza Encore, two Subarus, two Harleys (big twins), knives, Vitamix blender, Miele vacuum, Whirlpool drier and fridge, and some other stuff (Grundens, Patagonia apparel) , Snap On , Matco tools, etc, which at least (all in this list) are 15 years and older and still standing. Oh, forgot to mention MacBook Pro and iMac Mid 2009 still standing. Bose mini speaker. BUY LESS BUY BETTER!

Best device to make a pot of coffee?
Start with the Technivorm Moccamaster, like recommended here. For what you get, they aren't expensive. Only thing we hated was the fragility of the pouring spout on the pot, a small bump in your drying rack is enough to crack it. After then 3rd time, we just lived with the broken spout. The way we used to brew it was: 1. Put the paper filter in and rinse it 2. Have the funnel blocked, let the water fully run into it, then stir the slurry completely 3. Once fully stirred, then open it to decant into the jug Not sure if this is optimal or horrendous, but was what we did. Also, goes without saying, but get the best beans you can, and beans that suit the way you drink coffee (i.e. with or without milk). Finally, have a dedicated grinder, set to what you believe tastes best for you.

This is the answer. Technivorm Moccamaster is my last coffee maker. Period. 8 years, and I don't see it stopping.

Best device to make a pot of coffee?
French press is the most simple, moka pot is slightly more complex but less fragile. Pour over is great but takes additional gear. I have all of the above and an espresso machine but when I just want to get something done and move on it’s the Technivorm Moccamaster. Mine is at least 10 years old. Never had an issue and all components are serviceable and replacement parts are available.

Best device to make a pot of coffee?
My wife thought I was insane spending $300 on a coffee maker, but after spending $100 on trash coffee makers every 12-14 months for years on failing junk, getting the Technivorm Moccamaster turned out to be a smart financial investment. Mine just turned 9 and is brewing a pot right now. A minimum of 1 pot a day since I bought it means I'm well over 3,200 pots brewed. I descale and deep clean every time I finish a pack of filters (250 to a pack)

Best device to make a pot of coffee?
I agree A LOT of cheap drip machines last. Honestly they're basic machines so they should. OP stated they've had issues with others though and the Technivorm Moccamaster machine and company behind it has been proven over decades. So if they're ready to go Buy it for Life this is the answer.

Best Coffee machines recommendation?
If you want a well built machine that is truly BIFL, then the Technivorm Mochamaster. The thing is like the Oreck XL vacuum in that it hasn’t changed much in 40+ years, but that it’s also simplistic. It’s a one button brewer so no fancy functions, but it brews about a best as you’re going to get from a drip maker. If you get one, I would recommend getting one with a grass carafe instead of the insulated thermal one
