Light Hiker Micro Crew Cushion
If you redesign one of the most popular socks in the line you better come correct. Increased breathability with mesh panels on top of the foot, a new smooth ribbing upper that stays put forever, and extended cushion over the Achilles - just a few heavy additions to one of the lightest hike socks out there. Men's micro crew socks average 8.5 in. from heel to cuff - expect them to show about 6 in. above a low hiking shoe or just above a standard hiking boot. A performance fit means no slipping, no bunching, no blisters for peak hiking comfort. Light Hiker socks have cushioning underfoot, atop the ankle, and up the Achilles to keep feet comfortable for miles and miles. Multi-zone mesh panels improve venting and flexibility, while reducing bulk and pressure points. Merino Wool is at home on the trail, naturally moving moisture to keep feet fresh and dry in all weather.

What style darn tough sock do you have and why would you go to bat for it?
I use their hiking socks medium cushion as both regular length and quarter ankle. Absolutely love them. I do work in an office and buy their lifestyle socks as well. They are thinner and do show more wear. But it's been 5+ years and I've yet to have any reason to send back for replacement.

Sneakers or boots for daily wear.
I work in a warehouse and I've worn Thorogood moc boots and Jim Green AR8's. They both hold up well, but the latter are much more comfortable due to the wider toe box. I recommend getting some aftermarket insoles like Superfeet Green and some good thick socks (I use Darn Tough Socks). Boots take awhile to break in and you will get blisters - buy some Leukotape P to help with that.

Where Does "Buy It for Life" Not Make Sense?
What I love about Darn Tough crew socks is that I can run sprints and exercise in them on a padded gym floor and not have them roll off or bunch up like all the other brands I have. I’ve been wearing them for the last 3 years and they still have plenty of elasticity. I wash in cold water and drip dry.
