What style darn tough sock do you have and why would you go to bat for it?
I have two that I use mainly and this is after buying a few different ones over the course of about ten years or so. I started with just one of their normal crew socks which lasted a good long time when I was working at about four to five years to a sock that only last me about three years and it is one of their most expensive socks. The other is running sock with a full top which goes much better with shorts and has lasted about five to six years. Their T4033 sock is by far my favorite it just doesn't work with shorts. It's the highest content and thickest Merino sock I've been able to find. Warm in winter and cool in summer. Expensive at $31 but they have a Life Time Guarantee. I've even tried Smart Wool and what they claim o be thick is only thick on the bottom and still wasn't thick when compared to the T4033 and I have not found on any other sock manufacture with a Life Time warranty anything that compares. Sure I have to pay to send them in to get replaced and the entire process takes about a month from sending in to being inspected to receiving a code and getting them back but I have extras for that very purpose. I also bought mine when they cost a bit less and used a military discount and asked my children for this particular socks for birthdays, Christmas, and fathers day and now I don't have to buy anymore socks as long as Darn Tough honors their warranty. Oh and by the way I never send socks back until I have three pairs and I re-use Amazon Boxes to do it in all to keep my maintenance costs down. I forgot to mention that these high content Merino socks also will shrink when using the dryer on delicate but that too doesn't bother me to the point I would want to hang dry them to possibly prevent that since they are still large enough at the end of the day for me to wear, and Oh by the way they are thick and maybe a bit to snug on some more snug footwear. All in all the T4033 socks are the thickest highest content Merino socks I have been able to find and are warm in the winter and cool in the summer and make great slippers around the house. I may have shown some interest to trying some Alpaca socks as those sound interesting but they too are very expensive but I have yet to find any of them that have the warranty Darn Tough does. Oh, and their are companies which have a warranty where you can send a picture instead of sending the actual socks which wouldn't cost a thing to get a replacement but I don't think they cover dogs and the main point is they simply don't have any socks which such a high content of Merino or nearly as thick a sock. Oh, and I forgot to mention Drs have commented on how thick these socks are, anyone seeing these socks can't help noticing how thick these socks are. All I have to do is place the ones with holes a place while I wait for it's eventual buddies to appear over time and ship them back to Darn Tough in an Amazon box once I get three pairs for about $7 every three years to get three new pairs which would cost at least $93 dollars to replace almost anywhere else if only they made them in the first place. High content Merino is known to shrink and not known too last but I have found a way to get very expensive socks I really like for a small maintenance fee about every three years and I never have to buy anymore socks.

Comfortable socks for warmth ease of wear and durable after extended wear
Darn Tough T4033. The thickest highest content Merino Wool Sock I have seen yet. They do tend to wear quicker than my other Darn Tough socks but since they have a lifetime warranty I get them swapped out about every two tto three years when they do. I also wear them as slippers inside the house which I am sure shortens their life, but I could care less because again I get them swapped out for new ones when they do.

A pair of darn tough socks
Fox River doesn't make anything close to a Darn Tough T4033 the last I looked. It's simply the thickest highest content Merino Wool sock I've ever been able to find. It list what it's made of but it is a bit hard to describe how thick they are unless you see them in person.
