What is the best laptop brand for long term use?
Bought a Dell XPS in 2012, its an i7 with 16GB of RAM and a Nvidia graphics card. Still running totally fine to this day. Unfortunately, I got alerted that it's going to stop receiving updates after October. But that's more of a Microsoft/Windows winding down support for Windows 10 vs Dell (it's so old that it didn't qualify to upgrade to Win 11)

What is the best laptop brand for long term use?
I made another post with some more details- I don’t daily drive Windows for my laptop, but sticking to what OP wants I think Dell offerings are probably best right now for a sweet spot of cost, reliability, and repairability. Microsoft is making pretty solid hardware at the moment with their surfaces, but the repairability is still fairly poor (not as bad as when they were released, but still not great). For OP’s usecase, if pressed, I’d probably say something like a Dell XPS 13 would be a good choice.
