Enjoy chewable, nugget-style ice that’s designed to chill drinks quickly while keeping the ice’s flavor in a way traditional hard cubes may not. This GE Profile countertop ice maker produces crunchy pellets from compacted flakes, making it a convenient choice for everyday beverages as well as quick snacking. With rapid ice production and a 3 lb capacity in the removable drawer, you can keep fresh ice on hand without frequent refills. The large capacity water tank helps extend time between fills and supports up to about 1.6 lb of fresh ice per hour, depending on conditions, so you’re less likely to run short during busy moments. The unit is built to work with an attached water supply, helping reduce reliance on an external water source and allowing higher output compared with manual filling. For upkeep, the advanced cleaning system is designed to make sanitizing and descaling more straightforward, helping you maintain performance with less effort. An innovative scale-inhibiting filter helps reduce solidification scale formation over time and also helps remove bad flavors and reduce chlorine, VOCs, and other impurities from the water used for ice. To help prevent clumping and leaks, the design recirculates melted water from the reservoir. The sleek touch display provides an easy-to-use interface to start cycles, view status, and power off, and it can also support WiFi connectivity. For convenience, smart automatic refills help keep ice production going when the level runs low. In normal use, the first batch can be ready in about 10 minutes, giving you faster access to fresh nugget ice at home.

Anyone using a countertop ice maker that's actually good?
If it's on indiegogo, you can almost be certain that there are not enough units out there to get a true reliability test. Additionally, a *big* part of BIFL on electronic devices is the availability of parts as well as the continued support from the company, both of which are dubious from a startup. My advice would be to either go with something cheap from Frigidaire or Igloo, or to pony up the money for the GE Profile Opal.

For the best all-around performance and speed, I'd highly recommend the [Silonn Ice Maker](https://www.reddit.com/user/Stunning-Maize/comments/1nrmyy1/the_topperforming_countertop_ice_makers_of_2025/). If you're looking for the absolute best experience with that chewable nugget ice, the [GE Profile Opal 2.0 with Side Tank](https://www.reddit.com/user/Stunning-Maize/comments/1nrmyy1/the_topperforming_countertop_ice_makers_of_2025/) is the top-tier choice.
