What laptop should I buy in 2025
A MacBook if you can afford it. For the battery life alone it’s worth it. You don’t need to upgrade frequently. I still run an old M2 and it’s solid. I like the air for portable over the pro. Otherwise framework or system76 make amazing repairable laptops. Any enterprise laptop with reasonable specs will also do. Pick them up second hand on eBay or similar site. Dont get a laptop to draw on. They all suck. Buy the cheapest Wacom you can and use that. Alternatively, see if you can use an iPad Pro instead of a laptop and go with that.

Best laptop currently?
MacBook. Mine normally last 10 years. I have two MacBook pros for home. Recently got a MacBook Air for work. I’d be tempted to get one of these for my next home machine. It’s good bang for buck. I don’t need the power of a Pro.

What is the best laptop brand for long term use?
Not your preference and I don’t know what light gaming means, but yeah, MacBook Air. From 2006-2013 I had 3 laptops for school, two incredibly shitty HPs and an expensive shitty Vaio. My first Air lasted from 2013 to 2021, and was still pretty functional - I just wanted something newer, and I was able to sell my old one for a few hundred bucks.
