Best Medium Budget Toaster for Wide-ish Bread?
Cuisinart CPT-180 it's around $50, slots are definitely wider than standard and it actually has decent temp control. Had mine for 3 years, toasts thick sourdough and bagels no problem.

What’s one item you bought that way outperformed its price?
Cuisinart two-slice toaster. I want to replace it but the thing just won’t die – and we’re talking 20-years now

I just want a toaster that actually just reliably toasts both sides of my bread...
I ended up choosing the Cuisinart CPT-180, which reliably toasts both sides evenly and fits well under the $150 mark.

I've had the best luck with the Cuisinart CPT-180. It actually toasts both sides evenly, which shouldn’t be a big ask, but apparently, it is. It’s sturdy, has a classic design, and the slots are wide enough for bagels without burning one side to a crisp. I’ve had mine for years, and it’s been way more reliable than the cheap ones I used to go through every year.
