Looking for a stick vacuum like the one in the photo trusted models you’ve used for years?
I bought the Dyson SV25 stick and I love it. It's easy to use and picks up everything on my bare floors and lite weight carpet. I got it at Sam's for around $300 - to last me. It also runs about 40 mins before needing a charge. Attachments are easy to use.

Recommend a durable vacuum cleaner
Nah man I actually disagree here - I've had my Dyson V8 for like 4 years and use it way more than my big vacuum because it's so convenient. Battery life is still solid and being able to just grab it for quick cleanups is a game changer. The corded one stays in the closet most of the time now lol

This isn’t an issue with the Dyson v8

I have had the same Dyson V8 for about 8 years now and I'm still happy with it. We got it fixed once, which was free and super easy since we live near a service center. We also replaced the battery with an aftermarket one this year. I don't have anything to compare against but I'm perfectly happy with it.

Probably fair to also give consideration to how you use it too. I’ve had a Dyson (V8 I think) for several years with no issues. That said, I use it lightly because I have house cleaners come every other week so I’m not thoroughly vacuuming the whole house with it regularly. And I don’t expect a lightweight battery powered anything to last forever. If I wanted a tank for heavier use I’d buy the Miele everyone loves or something comparable. For what it is, the Dyson is very good.

I just don’t get the Miele. We inherited one. Yes powerful yes reliable but honestly an absolute pig of a thing to pull out lug about and use. We got a Dyson V8 5 years ago that we use everyday. Pure ease and simplicity and powerful enough which a nice rage of attachments. The Miele never got used again after getting the Dyson so we got rid of it.

Best Handheld Vacuum Cleaner for Pet Owners
Yep, same. I have just replaced the battery on my 5 year old V8 and it's perfect for litterbox cleanup, shedding season and small jobs. There's full battery replacement sets that also include new filters, worth a shot!! :)

I’ve always been a Makita guy without knowing anything about the corporate side. My tools always just felt more solid and durable than coworkers’ Dewalt or Milwaukee. Then I saw this in r/construction.
I'm on the Makita train. Here's a tip. You can buy an adaptor for the Dyson V8 vacuum that accepts 18V Makita (or other brands) batteries making it a nearly BIFL Vacuum.

Best vacuum cleaner for dog hair?
I ended up going with the stick Dyson v8.... it definitely is convenient for every day, and it was what I had before.... but the canister fills up fast, so I wonder if I should've gone with one of the larger cannister roll around ones. I think that if we got a robot vacuum on top of the stick we would be perfect... but generally we have a vacuum, and it works lol

I do really like my Dyson V8 that I bought not too long ago. It’s a joy to use and I actually don’t mind vacuuming now.

whats a cheap reliable vacuum cleaner?
I bought our Dyson V8 cordless about 8 years ago. It has been great. Drywall dust from renovations seems very tough on it but that is just a cheap filter change and good to go. Battery is still decent

After weeks of research I’ve finally settled on a vacuum
I have a Dyson V8 stick that I can clean my entire house in about 15 minutes by continuously walking from room to room without plugging and unplugging the machine. I can't imagine going back to something like this. Glad you're happy with it.
