The Dyson V8 Origin cordless vacuum cleaner is engineered with the power, versatility, tools and run time to clean homes with pets. Dyson’s de-tangling Motorbar cleaner head deep cleans carpets and hard floors with hair removal vanes that clear long hair and pet hair from the brush bar. The Dyson V8 Origin has advanced, whole-machine filtration that captures pet allergens and fine dust, expelling cleaner air. Thanks to the cordless format, it also transforms into a handheld vacuum with one click so you can clean up high, down low and everywhere in between.

Best Dyson Cordless Vacuum?
The only problem with cordless Dyson is you have to replace the battery periodically since it gets really worn after a couple years, but outside of that nothing else degraded, just needed some cleaning. I think I have the v8 but if I were buying now I would just go with what ever is most current as long as the battery can still be replaced at home. What I found personally and through reviews is the battery price is directly commensurate with battery strength and longevity, so you should go with the official battery. The cheapest batteries lie about their capacity and can die in a few months, while the more legit battery I found, and bought, which was priced right between the cheapest batteries and official one, ended up with a middle life span and power. Also, the official battery comes with a little installation manual so you don’t have search for instructions online and it comes with fresh screws and washers, which is very good because if you strip one of those screws taking it out you’ll turn your vacuum into trash. I think with cordless there are always some major trade offs you have to accept in comparison to corded vacuums. I hate having to deal with a cord so I accept the trade offs.

Best Vacuum for Pets
I also stick with my Dyson V8. It was recommended here on reddit already

Looking for a stick vacuum like the one in the photo trusted models you’ve used for years?
I really like the Dyson V series stick vacuum. I've had mine for 10 years and have been able to replace any worn out part inexpensively. It's not just hype. The vacuum is designed by an engineer who understands the right to repair.

I bought the Dyson v8 7 years ago and just recently had the replace the battery, which was super easy. If it craps out in a few years I’ll be buying another Dyson. No doubt about it.

I’ve had a Dyson v8 for 5 years and it still works great which seems impressive for a stick vacuum. I also have a near decade old shark navigator that still works like the day I bought it. Now if I could just find a robot vacuum that lasts better than the POS roomba I have.

I just got a new V8 Dyson yesterday and it’s great. I have a 3 story town house and a cord would be a massive PITA, none of the floors are big so it doesn’t take long to vacuum but cordless makes it so much easier to just zoom to the next room.

I’ve had my Dyson v8 since 2016. Bought an additional refurb v8 in 2019 as a second vacuum. I’ve only had to replace the batteries once each. These things keep on trucking still. Can’t complain.
