Large, parka with synthetic lining that reaches down over the rear and thighs. The perfect winter garment for changing weather conditions, it protects against the wind and rain at the same time as the Supreme Micro Loft padding keeps you warm in really low temperatures. Detachable hood with soft fleece lining and warm synthetic fur trimming that protects against snowstorms. Many practical pockets, including two large zippered breast pockets, a pocket for a media player on the sleeve and two bellow pockets with hand-warming pockets at the hem. On the inside, there are two mesh pockets, two media player pockets with openings for ear phones, safety pockets and one Napoleon pocket. Ribbed knitting at the neck keeps cold drafts out. Drawcord at the hem and long, two-way zipper with protective flap. Velcro adjustments at the sleeve cuffs.

Warmest coat for Chicago winter
I’m in Chicago. Highly recommend the Fjallraven Nuuk parka, or really any of their other parkas. I also have a Canada Goose that I love, but the price of CG has literally doubled since I bought mine and Fjallraven is excellent.

What’s one item you bought that has lasted for YEARS and was worth every penny?
Fjallraven G1000 goose down parka. If it’s too cold for this jacket, I’ve got bigger problems than temperature (like the end of civilization). I’ve had it 8 years now and it will probably last me another 8 at least unless I grow my waistband by a lot. I live in Wisconsin, US for reference.

In need of warm winter coat with a budget of $350-400
The Fjallraven Nuuk Parka if you can get it on sale. Snagged one at REI last month for $350 and it's been great with the near 0 F days we've been having in Minnesota the last week or so.
