Introducing the WÜSTHOF Gourmet Hollow Edge Santoku Knife, a versatile addition to any kitchen. With a 5-inch blade crafted in Solingen, Germany, this knife is designed for precision and efficiency. The Santoku style is renowned across Japan and Asia, offering exceptional versatility similar to the European Chef's Knife. Whether you are mincing herbs, chopping vegetables, or slicing fruits and meats, this knife will perform flawlessly. The hollow edge design features vertical indentations that reduce friction and prevent food from sticking to the blade. This ensures smooth and precise cuts every time. The knife's black handle provides a comfortable grip, enhancing control during use. Known for its sharpness, the Wüsthof Santoku Knife enables you to achieve fine to wafer-thin cuts with ease. Made from high-quality materials by the esteemed brand Wusthof, this German santoku knife represents durability and craftsmanship at its best. It's not only a reliable tool but also an elegant addition to your cutlery collection. Embrace the efficiency of top-rated hollow edge technology with this essential kitchen companion.

Looking for a chefs knife
If only one knife, I'd suggest a Wüsthof either Cooks Knife (20cm) or Santoku Knife (17cm) and use a honing steel before very use. Use end-cut chopping board and "properly" sharpen it once or twice a year.

Have never seen this happen with a Wusthof knife
This also happened to me with their Santoku knife. Same crack pattern. However, customer service then replaced it free of charge.

Get the knife! The ziplocks aren’t that great and that’s a lot of money for bags that will get lost eventually
