The Atom Hoody is the solution to your “which jacket should I wear?” problem. Wear it solo for chilly forest hikes with windy summits, climbing at the crag, and hanging at the campsite, or as a midlayer for touring and wet winter objectives. The Coreloft synthetic insulation stays warm even if you run into light weather, making it a better alternative to down for high-output days year round.

Let’s Talk Wirecutter: What Was Worth It and What Wasn’t?
I absolutely love wirecutter! So you already know I was v happy to see your post. Here are some of my fave wirecutter purchases (not in any specific order, just in the order I remember them lol): - Blundstone boots - Monitor arms (Jarvis or Fully? I forget) - Anything from OXO (tongs, kitchen scissors) - Gracula garlic mincer - Target curtain you mentioned - Arcteryx non-down jacket (Atom?) - Uniqlo sweatpants (cheap and comfortable) - IPhone cases (Smartish) - iPad Pro case (Zugu) - iPhone and iPad screen protectors - Smart light bulbs (Wyze) - Petlibro cat water fountain - Bracelet for my girlfriend (GLDN) - Etsy engagement ring dish for my now fiancée :) - Honeywell space heater - Vornado fan / air circulator - Uniball Jetstream pens - AirPods Pro 2 (although the previously recommended Powerbeats Pro was a bust for me) - all the charging cables or blocks - video cables - Lands End duffle bag

Help a brother out - waterproof (maybe?) warm jacket that goes well with a smart casual/office outfit
I’m a fan of proper outdoor outwear coats, but live in Denver where they’re normal in an office. I’ve spent the last 12 year wearing a black [Arc Teryx Atom](https://www.rei.com/product/243256/arcteryx-atom-insulated-jacket-mens?sku=2432560009&store=61&CAWELAID=120217890019456815&CAGPSPN=pla&CAAGID=111891538558&CATCI=pla-346839784268&cm_mmc=PLA_Google%7C21700000001700551_2432560009%7C346839784268%7Cbrand_flag%7C11306275400&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=11306275400&gbraid=0AAAAAD_DTlyBBtgDFJxa2MCFB8rzQz9Xj) for 90% of my midweight needs, and add a goretex shell when I need waterproof, or their Squamish lightweight wind shell, or their down coat when I need extra warms. Perk is they’re also great for skiing, hiking, biking, etc.

Jackets for cycling and walking in mild, rainy and cold-ish weather?
In my experience. My Arc'teryx is the best. Went to Montana in October with no winter clothes and basically only that jacket and I was fine. Even got a bit warm while riding/hiking and had to open it up a bit. Also it got wet and I stayed dry despite it not being fully water repellent. Best money I've spent on a jacket. It's called the Atom AR.

Warmest women's jacket?
Yeah I have both the atom and the atom heavyweight. When I wore them and was still cold I was worried that there wouldn't be anhthing to warm me up.

what winter coat are yall using?
I stand by the arcteryx atom which is around 270-300 depending on where u can find it but it is literally the best winter jacket out there, meets all your criteria and is relatively thin but super insulated (I also hate puffers)
