Which type of pan is the BIFL king?
Tramantina triply. Very nearly as good as All Clad for much less.

Dishwasher Safe Stainless Steel Pots and Pans
Trimontina triplyclad don't have lips. I don't put them in the dishwasher but we've been very happy with them for the money.

Suggest for my kitchenware?
Tramontina tri ply stainless, the made in Brazil ones with all stainless lids. Not the stainless rimmed glass lids. Should you drop one, the all stainless lid might get a dented rim, but the glass may shatter. Cuisipro stainless measuring spoons. Sturdy, narrow oval bowls that fit into most spice jars. One piece construction, so the handles never break off. Pyrex glass measuring cups. At least a 2 cup size, 4 or 8 cup optional. Oxo makes decent dry measuring cups. Oxo is a safe choice for stainless utensils.

All Clad D3 pan set worth it?
I’ve had the All-Clad D3 set for a couple years and it’s solid. Heats evenly, handles high temps without warping, and no coating to worry about since it’s stainless steel. They’re a bit of an investment, but they last forever if you take care of them. If you want something comparable but a bit more budget-friendly, check out Made In or Tramontina’s tri-ply line great quality too.

What’s a kitchen item you bought once and never had to replace?
Tramontina Tri-Ply Clad Stainless Steel pans. They were an ATK best buy alternative for All-Clad and they’ve held up really well. I’ve left them on the stove until they boiled dry and looked like they were unsalvageable and they came clean with a bit of Barkeepers friend and not a lot of elbow grease. Don’t forsee the need to replace them in my lifetime.
